GETTING STARTED IN SIDECAR RACING

The Scottish Sidecar Racing Club was formed in 1975 by a group of sidecar racing enthusiasts with the sole purpose of promoting sidecar racing in Scotland.

Over 40 years later the aims of the club are still the same.  Our website will hopefully help explain how to start racing sidecars whether as a passenger or driver.  Our getting started page covers the requirements for licence applications and the process you will be expected to complete to successfully obtain you SACU racing licence.

If you would like to become a member of the SSRC you will find an application form in the documents section of our site.  We have two types of members, competitive and non-competitive.  All members receive newsletters during the course of the year and competitive members can also be issued with an SACU race licence application form if required.

CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS

With a maximum of 800 points on offer and 32 races to try and finish, it should be a great Championship.

The 8 rounds have been chosen as they form a Championship where both Scottish tracks are visited four times, including one Reverse or Anti-Clockwise direction meeting at Knockhill in July.

In addition to this the SSRC will be subsidizing entries to the first event, the 2nd Scottish Sidecar Festival Race Weekend (including electric hook-up) £TBA for the teams entering.
